Chennai, Jul 13 (PTI) In a significant reshuffle within the state police force, the Tamil Nadu government on Monday transferred senior IPS officer A Arun from his position as the Director of the anti-corruption wing, DVAC. An Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) rank officer, Arun has been posted as the Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy in Oonamancherry, Chennai, filling an existing vacancy. The government order, which takes immediate effect, also stated that C Mageshwari, currently serving as the Inspector General of Police for the Special Investigation Cell-I at the DVAC, will hold full additional charge of the Director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), a release issued by Additional Chief Secretary, K Manivasan. The transfer marks a remarkably swift reassignment for Arun, who had been appointed to head the DVAC less than two months prior, in late May. Prior to his brief stint at the DVAC, Arun served as the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner. During the 2026 election period, he was placed on a compulsory waiting list by the Election Commission. This move followed representations from political parties, who alleged administrative hurdles and requested his transfer while the Model Code of Conduct was active. PTI JR JR ADB
