Chandigarh, Jul 9 (PTI) A two-day SIR camp will be organised this weekend at all polling booths across Punjab to help voters in filling and submitting enumeration forms for the ongoing revision of electoral rolls.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, will conduct the special camps from 8 am to 3 pm on July 11-12.
The ongoing house-to-house enumeration drive under the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise will continue till July 24, Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra said on Thursday.
Appealing to voters to participate in large numbers, Mitra urged those who have not yet filled out their enumeration forms to contact their booth level officer (BLO) or visit their nearest polling booth during the special camp.
She said active public participation is essential to ensure that every eligible elector is included in the draft electoral roll, which is scheduled to be published on August 3.
The CEO said BLOs would remain present at all designated polling booths during the camps to assist electors in completing and submitting their enumeration forms.
The SIR exercise is aimed at updating the electoral rolls through house-to-house verification and collection of enumeration forms from eligible voters across Punjab. PTI VSD SKY SKY
