Imphal, Jul 14 (PTI) Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh on Tuesday said that his government remains committed to transparent, responsive, and people-centric governance in the state.
Singh made the remarks after chairing a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat.
"We reviewed key policy matters and discussed important decisions aimed at strengthening governance, accelerating development, and enhancing public service delivery across Manipur," the chief minister said in a social media post.
"Our government remains committed to transparent, responsive, and people-centric governance, working collectively to ensure the welfare, progress, and prosperity of every citizen of the state," he said.
The Cabinet meeting also approved “Promulgation of the Manipur Fire and Emergency Service Ordinance, 2026” to amend the existing fire safety act and improve the fire safety mechanism, an official statement said.
The cabinet also agreed to establish a “State Climate Centre” under City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS 2.0) Programme in Manipur, it said.
The CITIIS 2.0 is a four-year (2023–2027) urban development programme under the Smart Cities Mission. Conceived by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with global partners, it focuses on promoting a circular economy, integrated waste management, and climate resilience across the country.
Later, Singh chaired a review meeting of the Home Department in the presence of the Director General of Police, the Home Commissioner, and senior officials.
The meeting reviewed the department’s performance in maintaining internal security, law and order, public safety, and disaster preparedness, while assessing key operational and administrative priorities, the CM said in a post.
"The government remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening policing and building an efficient, responsive, and people-centric security framework to ensure the safety and well-being of every citizen in the state," he said. PTI COR NN
