Tirupati, Jul 13 (PTI) A Hyderabad-based apparel retail firm donated Rs 4.4 crore to the TTD's Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust on Monday. The donation demand drafts were handed over by the firm's Chairman Potti Venkateswarlu and Directors S Rajamouli, T Prasada Rao and Potti Malathi Lakshmi Kumari to TTD Chairman BR Naidu and Additional Executive Officer Venkaiah Chowdary at the Ranganayakula Mandapam in the Srivari temple. "A Hyderabad-based apparel retail firm donated Rs 4.41 crore to the TTD-run BIRRD Trust," said an official press release from the temple body. The BIRRD Trust provides advanced medical treatment and rehabilitation services to physically challenged patients. TTD is the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. Meanwhile, another devotee from Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh donated a diamond-studded gold necklace weighing 56.8 grams, valued at an estimated Rs 12.5 lakh, to the Sri Padmavati Ammavaru Temple at Tiruchanoor. The ornament was donated by Srinivasa, while temple officials received the offering and presented the donor with Veda Ashirvachanam and Srivari Theertha Prasadam. PTI MS ADB
