Chennai, Jul 15 (PTI) In a major post-election organisational push, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday held high-level consultation meetings here with party office-bearers from Erode and Thiruvallur districts.
The AIADMK leadership has initiated a district-wise postmortem to analyse the factors behind its drop in vote shares. The district level consultative sessions, which commenced on July 3, have systematically gathered ground-level feedback from key party functionaries across various zones.
Palaniswami also recently convened a state-wide advisory meeting of the party's women’s wing on July 1 to review ongoing organisational works and mapped out strategies to elevate the role of women in the party’s growth.
According to an AIADMK statement, the discissions held at the party headquarters here outlined constructive strategies to accelerate the party's grassroots growth from the ground up.
During the meeting attended by district secretaries and senior party functionaries, Palaniswami further provided comprehensive guidance and strategic directions on expanding the party's outreach.
Party sources said Palaniswami urged leaders and cadres not to be disheartened by the recent poll results, emphasising that electoral dips are temporary phases in political journeys.
In the April 23 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK could secure only 47 seats and was relegated to the third position after DMK, which is the main opposition party in the House.
