There were 699 contenders in all, with the AAP and Congress putting up 70 and the BJP putting up 68. Its allies, the Janata Dal (United) and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), were also running for two seats. The sons of previous Chief Ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Sandeep Dikshit were put forward by the BJP and Congress in the New Delhi constituency, where Mr. Kejriwal had fought to keep his seat.
On February 8, at 8 a.m., the Delhi Assembly polls' vote counting will start. Electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be counted after postal ballots.
