This policy explains what personal data swadesi.com collects, how we use it, and your rights. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
When you use swadesi.com without an account, we do not collect any personal data. If you choose to follow a Living Story, we store your account identifier and the story you follow — nothing else. We do not track browsing history, device fingerprints, or third-party ad identifiers.
How we use it
Account data is used solely to deliver the service: to notify you of updates to stories you follow, and to display your follow count on a story. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it for profiling.
Cookies
We set one session cookie when you log in. No tracking cookies. No third-party analytics cookies. We use a self-hosted analytics tool (Plausible) that collects only aggregated, anonymised page-view counts — no individual tracking.
Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Third-party services
We use Google OAuth for sign-in. When you authenticate with Google, their privacy policy applies to that interaction. We do not receive or store your Google password. We receive only your name, email, and profile photo.
Living Stories and consent
Story subjects have separately signed written consent forms. If you are a story subject and wish to withdraw consent or request removal of your story, please contact us. We will archive the story within 24 hours of a valid request.
Children
swadesi.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update the "Last updated" date below when this policy changes. Significant changes will be announced on the platform.
