Haridwar as Ayurvedic Medicine Hub: Patanjali and Tradition

Haridwar has served as one of India's important Ayurvedic medicine centres for centuries, with numerous gurukuls (residential schools), ashrams, and herbal preparation facilities. The Haridwar herb market in the old city still trades in raw medicinal plants, herbal preparations, and ritual herbs sourced from the Himalayan forests.
