Ahmedabad Bandhani Tie-Dye Fabric Gujarat

Bandhani is Gujarat's iconic tie-dye textile craft where tiny points of fabric are bound with thread and resist-dyed in bright colours. Ahmedabad and Jamnagar are the main centres. Patterns include dots, squares, waves, and floral grids on silk, cotton, or chiffon. The craft is practiced by the Khatri community and is central to Gujarati bridal wear and festival dress. GI-tagged, bandhani sarees and dupattas are major export items.
