Shimla, Jun 2 (PTI) Even as light to moderate rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday evening, the local Met office has predicted a wet spell in the state until June 8, as a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from June 3. The Met office in Shimla has also issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with a speed of 30-40 kilometres per hour at isolated places until June 4. The state witnessed light to moderate rains in several parts in the 24 hours ending at 4 pm on Monday. Thunderstorms lashed the state capital Shimla and adjoining areas of Jubberhatti, Kufri and Kangra. Among the places that received the highest rainfall, Kandaghat received 26 mm of rain, followed by Kufri 16.8 mm, Fagu 16 mm, Kotkhai and Bharmaur 12.4 mm, Jubberhatti 12.2 mm, Shimla 12 mm, Sarahan 7.9 mm, Solan 6.8 mm and Chopal 5 mm. On the temperature front, Kukumseri was the coldest at night, recording a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day with a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius.
