UP: Man gets 20-year jail for raping minor

Bijnor, Jul 14 (PTI) A court here has sentenced a man to 20 years of imprisonment in connection with the rape of a seven-year-old girl. Additional District Government Counsel Bhalendra Rathore on Tuesday said that on March 10, 2024, a resident of a village in the Kotwali police station area of Bijnor had lodged a complaint alleging that his seven-year-old daughter had gone to an orchard to graze goats when accused, Dilip Shah, took her to a sugarcane field and raped her. Additional District Judge (POCSO) Kalpana Pandey on Monday held Shah guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment. PTI COR NAV APL APL
