Union minister Prahlad Joshi calls on Assam CM

Guwahati, Jul 10 (PTI) Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi called on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma here on Friday. Joshi reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in the state, Sarma said in a social media post. “It was a pleasure to meet Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @JoshiPralhad Ji and draw upon his vast experience in governance,” the CM said in a post on X. “We reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), which is providing free foodgrains to over 2 crore people across Assam,” he said. The chief minister also briefed him on Assam’s “rapid strides” in rooftop solar adoption. Sarma said he had shared with the Union minister “how the Assam secretariat has become India’s first secretariat to be powered entirely by solar energy”. PTI RBT
