New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) A large tree fell onto a moving Mercedes and another passing car on a busy road in southeast Delhi's East of Kailash during heavy rain and on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
No injuries were reported, they said.
The tree suddenly collapsed on Raja Dhir Singh Marg at around 1.30 pm, damaging the Mercedes and another car that came under its branches, an official of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said.
The DFS said it received a call about the incident at 1.38 pm and immediately dispatched a fire tender to the spot.
Personnel of the Public Works Department (PWD) also reached the site and began cutting and removing the fallen tree to clear the carriageway and restore normal traffic movement.
"No one was injured in the incident," a DFS official said.
The fallen tree temporarily disrupted traffic on Raja Dhir Singh Marg before clearance operations were launched.
Officials suspect the tree was uprooted by the strong winds and rain that lashed parts of the national capital during the afternoon. PTI BM NB
