Three get life sentence for killing father-son duo over property dispute in Latur

Latur, Jul 9 (PTI) A court in Nilanga in Latur on Thursday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment in a double murder case. Suresh Anyappa Birajdar and his son Sahil were killed and another son Ganesh sustained serious injuries after they were attacked by the three accused over a property dispute in Usturi village. A complaint was lodged at Kasarsirsi police station by the deceased's kin against Baswaraj Anyappa Birajdar, Lakhan Anyappa Birajdar and Sunil Anyappa Birajdar. Additional Sessions Judge SB Pawar sentenced the three to life imprisonment and also fined them Rs 10,000 each. The three were also sentenced to seven years' rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000 each for attempting to murder Ganesh Birajdar. During the trial, the prosecution examined six witnesses. Additional Public Prosecutor Kapil Pandharikar argued the case on behalf of the prosecution with guidance from District Government Pleader SV Deshpande. PTI COR BNM
