Teenage boy held for murdering his friend

Mumbai, July 8 (PTI) A 15-year-old boy was apprehended after he allegedly killed his friend by pushing him into a water-filled well over an old rivalry in Mumbai's Govandi area, police said on Wednesday. According to the police, the accused knew his friend could not swim and took advantage of the situation when they had gone to catch crabs. He allegedly kicked his friend from behind, causing him to fall into the well, resulting in his death. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's father, the Govandi Police registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for murder. The accused has been apprehended and sent to an observation home, while further investigation is underway, police added. PTI ZA NSK
