Shyama Prasad Mookerjee dedicated his life to protecting India's unity, integrity: Punjab BJP

Chandigarh, Jul 6 (PTI) Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee dedicated his life to protecting India's unity and integrity, said Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Monday while paying floral tributes on his 125th birth anniversary at the party's state headquarters here. Addressing the gathering, Dhillon said Dr Mookerjee had dedicated his life to the service of the nation and to protecting India's unity and integrity. He added that Mookerjee's commitment to nationalism, democratic values and a strong and united India continues to inspire people. Dhillon said Dr Mookerjee believed in the principle of "One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag" and made the supreme sacrifice while fighting for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country. He said BJP workers draw inspiration from Dr Mookerjee's ideals of patriotism, selfless service and national unity. Dhillon also planted a sapling at the party headquarters and said environmental protection should be a collective responsibility. He urged party workers to follow Dr Mookerjee's ideals and work with dedication for the welfare of society, while keeping national interest above all.
