Hisar, Jul 7 (PTI) Haryana Police busted a gang involved in prostitution and other immoral activities in Hisar city and rescued 18 women, officials said on Tuesday. According to the Hisar Police, this action was taken under a 'zero-tolerance' policy against prostitution and other immoral activities. As part of this campaign, a case regarding immoral trafficking was registered following raids on two hotels located in the Urban Estate police station area on Monday. A police team conducted planned raids on both hotels on Monday, after which the sex racket was busted, according to an official statement. Several were detained for questioning during the raid, and legal action was initiated in accordance with the law. Following the investigation, cases were also registered against the hotel operators under relevant sections after their involvement came to light, the police statement said. A police spokesperson on Tuesday informed that the women were brought to these hotels for prostitution from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Uttarakhand. Eighteen such women were rescued during the operation. The managers of both hotels were also apprehended on the spot, he said. Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain stated that it is the responsibility of every hotel operator to conduct business within the ambit of the law. If any hotel, guest house, or lodge becomes a hub for prostitution or any other form of immoral activity, strict legal action will be taken against its operators, managers, and everyone involved. No guilty party will be spared at any cost, he said. The Hisar SP emphasised that no individual or institution compromising the dignity of women, social decorum, or law and order would be tolerated under any circumstances. He issued a clear warning to the operators of all hotels, guest houses, resorts, and lodges in the district, instructing them to obtain valid identity proofs from every guest, maintain complete records and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. If immoral activities are found to be taking place at any establishment, the concerned operator will not be able to claim ignorance of the matter; strict legal action will be ensured in such cases based on the evidence, he said.
