Several vehicles involved in accident after motorcycles skid in rain; no one hurt

Mumbai, Jul 16 (PTI) The skidding of two motorcycles due to rain on the southbound carriageway of Magathane bridge in Mumbai's Borivali area on Thursday afternoon led to a vehicle pile-up involving four cars and a bus, though there were no reports of anyone getting injured, officials said. After the motorcycles skid, a car following the two-wheelers had to apply brakes, which resulted in a chain reaction of several vehicles rear-ending each other, he said. "The pile-up on the southbound carriageway of Magathane bridge involved four cars and a bus. No one was hurt in the incident. The cars and bus have been removed and parked along the road, while a multi-utility vehicle has stalled and is being shifted using a crane," the official said. All efforts are underway to clear the obstruction and restore normal flow of traffic, he said. PTI ZA BNM
