Revenue camps to be held in every assembly constituency: Minister Bawankule

Mumbai, Jul 9 (PTI) The Maharashtra government will organise revenue settlement camps in every assembly constituency of the state between July 22 and July 26 for the benefit of citizens, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Thursday. The camps, titled ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajaswa Samadhan Shibirs’, will be held to mark the birthday of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on July 22, which is also the birth anniversary of late former deputy CM Ajit Pawar, he told the legislative assembly. The camps will help beneficiaries avail services under the district annual plans and various state and central government welfare schemes. Citizens will also be provided with revenue department services and assistance under the government’s service guarantee mechanism, he said. Bawankule said the camps will be organised on any one of the three days -- July 22, 25 or 26 -- in every assembly constituency. After completion of the camps, tehsildars will submit outcome reports to the respective district collectors, he said. The government has also decided to involve social media influencers, eminent personalities from the social sector and NGOs to create awareness and ensure wider public participation in the campaign. An amount of up to Rs 10 lakh per assembly constituency will be spent on organising the camps from the available funds under the district annual plan, an official statement said. Bawankule also appealed to assembly members to take part in the planning and conduct of the camps in their respective constituencies to ensure that the maximum number of citizens benefit from the initiative.
