Jaipur, Jul 17 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday said that the redevelopment of eight railway stations under the Centre's Amrit Bharat Station Scheme would give fresh momentum to the state's development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday dedicated 75 redeveloped railway stations across 20 states to the nation, including eight stations in Rajasthan -- Gotan, Deeg, Somesar, Dausa, Khairthal, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Gangapur City.
Sharma joined the prime minister's programme through video conferencing from Gotan railway station in Nagaur district.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the railways have a crucial role in achieving the vision of a developed India and that the sector has witnessed a historic transformation since 2014.
He said the eight redeveloped stations would play an important role in advancing the state's vision of a "Viksit Rajasthan".
According to an official statement, Sharma said Indian Railways was reaching new milestones under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and asserted that the state's "double-engine government" was working towards realising the vision of a developed India through a developed Rajasthan.
