Ration card holders asked to complete e-KYC registration without delay in Puducherry

Puducherry, May 18 (PTI) Puducherry Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Director Muthu Meena on Monday said that all ration card beneficiaries in the union territory should mandatorily complete the process of e-KYC without delay. The Director said that this initiative is implemented in keeping with the directives of the Supreme Court. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution is intended to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes of the government and also subsidies are delivered only to genuine and eligible beneficiaries, an official release said. Meena said that with the approval of the Puducherry government, the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has made necessary arrangements to conduct the e-KYC registration for family ration card holders through Common Service Centres (CSCs) and the process of e-KYC is now in progress. Families who have not yet completed the registration are asked to complete the process through CSCs based on their ration cards and Aadhaar cards immediately and this is a free service for registration, the official said.
