Jaipur, Jul 14 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday approved disciplinary proceedings against three officials, including two Rajasthan Police Service officers, saying that negligence in maintaining law and order will not be tolerated.
According to an official statement, Sharma sanctioned the suspension of a deputy superintendent posted at the women's correctional home in Jaipur and ordered action under Civil Services rules against one RPS officer, while approving departmental inquiry findings against another.
Deputy Superintendent Saroj Vishnoi, posted at Jaipur's Mahila Bandi Sudhar Grih, has been suspended with immediate effect. The proposal to shift her headquarters from Jaipur to Bharatpur has also been approved, the statement said.
According to the complaint against Vishnoi, she allegedly kept a woman prisoner with her, allowing interference in official work. There were also allegations that she provided facilities to inmates in violation of rules in exchange for money.
The chief minister also approved disciplinary action under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules against Jodhpur Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Derawar Singh.
Singh, during his posting as Kama SHO, allegedly attempted to shield seven accused persons in a murder case by holding only one out of eight accused guilty during the investigation.
In another case, the chief minister approved the departmental inquiry report against RPS officer Labhuram Vishnoi, with charges found to be proven.
Vishnoi was accused of ignoring instructions during action against illegal sand mining in the Banas river area under Chauth Ka Barwara police station in Sawai Madhopur district. His alleged failure to coordinate with concerned departments and act against illegal mining and transportation led to a law and order situation, putting the lives of police personnel, including himself, at risk.
The statement said these decisions would help ensure accountability in administrative functioning and bring greater transparency and efficiency in the working style of government personnel. PTI AG SHS
