Jaipur, Jul 16 (PTI) A gynaecologist posted at a Community Health Centre in Sri Ganganagar has been arrested for allegedly demanding bribe from a man for carrying out a medical procedure on his wife after she suffered a miscarriage, officials said on Thursday. The accused, Dr Mahendra Singh, a medical officer and gynaecologist, had allegedly demanded Rs 4,000 for conducting a procedure after the complainant's wife, who was around three months pregnant, suffered fetal death. The complainant approached Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) alleging that the doctor refused to perform the procedure unless the bribe was paid. Following verification of the complaint, an ACB team laid a trap and caught the doctor red-handed while allegedly accepting Rs 3,500 from the complainant, an ADG ACB Smita Srivastava said in Jaipur. The accused was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act. PTI SDA NB NB
