Jaipur, Jul 14 (PTI) The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will celebrate the 75th year of its formation with a day-long 'Amrit Mahotsav' programme on Wednesday, which will be inaugurated by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest at the concluding session. Current and former legislators, as well as Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, will attend the programme, during which discussions on landmark laws enacted over the past seven decades will be held.
Governor Haribhau Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will also attend the programme.
The event will begin at 10 am and conclude at 4 pm.
Assembly speaker Vasudev Devnani said that two technical sessions during the day would focus on important legislations passed by the Assembly over the last 75 years. Sixteen current and former legislators will discuss 24 significant laws enacted during the period.
Former MLA Pandit Ramkishan, who is 100 years old, is also expected to attend the function along with several other former legislators.
Devnani said the celebrations would commemorate the Assembly's democratic traditions, legislative achievements and commitment to public service.
Former Assembly speakers, deputy speakers and senior legislators will be felicitated during the event. PTI SDA MDO MDO
