Prostitution racket busted in Beed; three women rescued, two booked

Beed, Jul 10 (PTI) Three women were rescued after a prostitution racket was busted in Georai in Beed district by the police's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), an official said on Friday. The raid at a house in Achanak Nagar was carried out on Wednesday night following a tip off, which was verified through a decoy, assistant inspector Janabai Sangle of AHTU said. One woman, identified as Nagarbai Laxman Hatagale, a resident of Ramtirth here, was apprehended for allegedly running the racket, the official said. "Three women who were victims of the racket were rescued. One of them also named house owner Shantabai Pawar as being part of the racket," he said. A case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act was registered at Georai police station and further probe is underway, the official said. PTI COR BNM
