New Delhi, July 10 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Jayaprakash Narayan public library, a digital and multimedia facility developed by the New Delhi Municipal Council, in the national capital on Saturday, officials said. The three-storey library on Udyan Marg has been designed as a modern public reading and learning space with a seating capacity of 200 readers at a time, they said. According to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the library houses more than 30,000 books and also features an e-library section with subscriptions to online library services, giving users access to over 5 lakh e-books and digital catalogues. The civic body said the facility aims to provide readers with access to both physical and digital resources under one roof. The library comprises a ground plus two-storey structure with a lift, including a multipurpose hall on the ground floor and library halls on the first and second floors, the official said.
