Bhopal, Jul 17 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday dedicated to the nation 13 redeveloped 'Amrit Bharat stations' in Madhya Pradesh via video-conference.
These were among the 75 redeveloped stations inaugurated by the PM across the country.
Based on the concept of 'Heritage as well as Development', the redevelopment integrated local culture, heritage and architecture with modern passenger amenities, an official release said here.
The stations redeveloped under the scheme in Madhya Pradesh were Ashoknagar, Balaghat, Beohari, Bhind, Chhindwara, Harpalpur, Junnar Deo, MCS Chhatarpur, Nainpur, Sanchi, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh and Vidisha.
Sanchi, Vidisha, Ashoknagar and Shivpuri in Bhopal Division come under the West Central Railway. The redevelopment of these four railway stations focused on the integration of local culture and modern architecture, said a release.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur, local MLA Prabhuram Choudhary, Bhojpur MLA Surendra Patwa were among those present for the inauguration at the Sanchi railway station.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the event at Tikamgarh station, an official said.
General Manager, West Central Railway, Dilip Kumar Singh; Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi; Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria and other officials were also present.
In Vidisha, Rajya Sabha member Rajneesh Agarwal, MLA Mukesh Tandon and other public representatives were present.
In Ashoknagar, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and MLA Jagannath Singh Raghuvanshi attended the event.
In Shivpuri, MLA Devendra Kumar Jain was present.
The newly redeveloped stations are equipped with modern passenger amenities, cultural identity, and world-class infrastructure, the release said. These stations will boost regional tourism, trade, local economy and overall socio-economic development, it added. PTI MAS KRK
