Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jul 9 (PTI) A team of the elite National Security Guard visited the heavily patronised Parli Vaijnath temple, considered one of the 12 'jyotirlings', in Maharashtra's Beed district and reviewed security arrangements, a trustee said on Thursday. Speaking to a regional news channel, temple trust secretary Rajesh Deshmukh said the NSG team carried out a detailed inspection on July 6. "We were informed about the NSG visit through a letter sent by the district collector. The team checked every part of the temple, including entries and exits, and other aspects related to security. The team went to the Pradakshina area and garbhagriha and also examined other elevated areas," he informed. The team checked the CCTV camera network and firefighting mechanism of the temple, Deshmukh added. "The (NSG) team suggested making a few changes in the temple area from a security point of view. Earlier, policemen with guns were deployed here but they were removed. The team spoke with the local police. If we receive any written instructions, will will make necessary changes," he said.
