Jaipur, Jul 13 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas on Monday said NABARD has emerged as a key partner in rural infrastructure development and will continue to play an important role in achieving the goal of a developed Rajasthan by 2047.
Speaking at the Foundation Day celebrations of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in Jaipur, Srinivas said the institution has made a significant contribution to the state's rural and agricultural development.
Referring to the UN's designation of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, he highlighted the need to strengthen women's empowerment and build an inclusive rural financial system.
NABARD Deputy Managing Director Rakesh Kashyap said the bank's strategic priorities are aligned with the Centre's rural development vision. He said NABARD has remained a trusted development partner of the Rajasthan government in strengthening rural infrastructure.
Kashyap said NABARD has supported small and marginal farmers through initiatives such as the Kisan Credit Card, farmers' clubs and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). He said that the Self-Help Group-Bank Linkage Programme has helped improve financial inclusion among rural women.
He also highlighted the institution's efforts to help farmers tackle the impact of climate change.
During the programme, NABARD released two publications titled "NABARD in Rajasthan - Achievements 2025-26" and "Transforming Rural Rajasthan", a compilation of success stories.
The bank also honoured outstanding Farmer Producer Organisations, Self-Help Groups, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and artisans for their contribution to rural development. Grant sanction letters were distributed for two JIVA projects aimed at promoting climate-resilient agriculture, according to a release. PTI SDA HVA
