Bhopal, Jul 17 (PTI) Online retailer Amazon India has signed an MoU with the MP State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC) to accelerate e-commerce exports from Madhya Pradesh by enabling MSMEs, entrepreneurs, D2C brands, manufacturers, weavers, artisans and producers to build global businesses. As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), these businesses will be built under the Amazon Global Selling programme to reach international customers, the e-commerce giant said in a release on Friday. The MoU was signed in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the 'Bharat Tex' event in New Delhi, said the release. The collaboration aims to strengthen awareness around e-commerce exports, improve exporter readiness, facilitate knowledge sharing, and create a knowledge-sharing programme that enables businesses from Madhya Pradesh to reach customers across Amazon's international marketplaces, it said. As part of the collaboration, Amazon and Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC) will jointly develop an e-commerce exports roadmap for the state, identifying policy and infrastructure recommendations to accelerate cross-border exports in line with India's vision of achieving USD 200-300 billion in e-commerce exports by 2030. The collaboration will also focus on identifying key interventions to strengthen the export ecosystem, including logistics, access to finance, payment reconciliation and other regulatory enablers, according to the release. Chandramauli Shukla, Managing Director, MPSIDC, said, "Madhya Pradesh is steadily emerging as a promising contributor to India's export landscape, supported by its strong base of MSMEs and diverse product categories." Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling, India, noted the MoU will pave the way for businesses from Madhya Pradesh to access international customers. "At Amazon, we are committed to helping Indian MSMEs and entrepreneurs build global brands through ecommerce exports. Our collaboration with MPIDC will drive awareness, strengthen exporter capabilities and advance initiatives that make it easier for businesses from Madhya Pradesh to reach customers around the world," Kalvapudi added.
