Gurugram, Jul 9 (PTI) A man who had fled from police custody after he was held for taking away a company car was arrested again on Thursday from a village in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, police said. He had escaped earlier this month when police were bringing him to Gurugram and had stopped at a petrol pump in Garoth town, Madhya Pradesh. Gurugram Police had suspended two policemen and initiated departmental inquiries against the Moharrir head constable (MHC) and the SHO of Sector 14 police station, they added. According to police, a man filed a complaint that a car belonging to his company, Vidya Blue Birds, had been sent to UA Automobiles Workshop, Sector-12, for repairs. When representatives of the company visited the shop to collect the vehicle, they found that it was missing. It was later found that the company's former employee, Prakash Rajak, had allegedly taken the car. Based on the complaint, a case was registered, police said. The police team took Rajak (27) into custody for questioning and further legal proceedings. He was a resident of Ranguwan village in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. On July 1, when the police team was bringing him to Gurugram, he escaped from custody when the police stopped at a petrol pump in Garoth. Investigation revealed that after escaping from police custody, the accused had been hiding at a relative's residence. "Acting on specific inputs and after sustained efforts, the police team traced and arrested him from a village in Sagar district. We are questioning him," said a senior police officer.
