Man killed in road accident in UP's Hamirpur

Hamirpur (UP), Jul 7 (PTI) A 40-year-old was killed after an unidentified vehicle rammed into his motorcycle on Tuesday here, while he was on his way to bring his daughter from her in-laws' house, police said. According to the police, the incident occurred around 11.00 am on the Kanpur-Sagar National Highway near Ingohat village. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Pal (40), a resident of Kusmara village (under Kurara police station), police said. After being hit, Pal fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to the Bharua Community Health Centre via ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. Family members of the deceased said that Ajay's daughter had not visited home for a long time. The accident occurred while Ajay was on his way to bring her. SHO of Sumerpur, Pawan Kumar Patel, said that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and efforts are on to trace the vehicle involved in the collision using CCTV footage.
