Man arrested for attempting to rape 6-year-old girl in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum

Chaibasa, July 13 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a six-year-old girl in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, a police officer said on Monday. The incident occurred on July 11, the officer said. The accused Akash Lohar barged into a house and caught hold of the girl and attempted to rape her, the police officer said. The accused fled the scene when the girl threatened to disclose it to her mother. The victim narrated the ordeal to her mother. The case was registered by the mother, police said. Police arrested the accused soon after a case was registered and forwarded him to judicial custody today, they said. The victim was sent for medical tests at Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa. PTI COR BS RG
