Lohardaga, Jul 9 (PTI) Police have arrested two persons for murdering and dismembering their 22-year-old friend in Jharkhand's Lohardaga district, officials said on Thursday. On Tuesday, police recovered a head and two severed legs inside a sack at a closed stone quarry located in Oyna Tongri within Sadar police station limits. Based on scientific and forensic evidence, police identified the victim as Hussain Ansari, a resident of New Azad Basti, in the same police station area. "We arrested two accused in this connection and recovered the remaining parts of the victim. The accused have been identified as Arman Khan (22), a resident of Noor Nagar, and Md Shahnwaj Ahmad alias Raj (25). Both accused confessed to the murder," Lohardaga SP Sadique Anwar Rizvi said. "During questioning, the accused told investigators that the three had consumed alcohol at Shahnwaj's house in Durgabadi Lane on July 4, where a dispute broke out over an issue with the victim. In a fit of rage, they first beat him to death," the officer said. Subsequently, they cut the body into several pieces with a hexa blade and stuffed the head and both legs in a sack and dumped it in the water-filled closed stone quarry, the SP said. Besides, they disposed of the other body parts in the forest and bushes. Based on the accused's inputs, police recovered the remaining body parts, the hexa blade used in the murder, and the scooter they used to dispose of the body, they said. An FIR was registered at Sadar police station under the BNS based on the statement of the deceased's father, Mikail Mir. PTI RPS RPS MNB
