Srinagar, Jun 5 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated two facilities set up in Ganderbal district to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. These were the District Emergency Operations Centre and Shri Amarnathji Yatra Control Room established at the Deputy Commissioner's Office. According to a spokesperson, Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore briefed Sinha about the key features of the new facilities. The Emergency Operations Centre will pool feed from CCTVs installed across Ganderbal by the district administration, police and other security forces; this will ensure real-time monitoring of the yatra at a single centralised location, he said. The facility is backed by a round-the-clock emergency citizen helpline number to provide immediate assistance and crisis mitigation. The centre also integrates CCTV feed from the Baltal base camp, its parking areas and the approach roads leading up to it, as well as Sonmarg and the Manigam transit camp. The Emergency Operations Centre will play a key role in planning and decision-making during the annual pilgrimage, he added. As per the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the Amarnath Yatra this year will begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28. PTI SSB RUK RUK
