Jind, Jul 11 (PTI) Haryana BJP chief Archana Gupta on Saturday said the country’s first hydrogen train that will be launched next week from Jind reflects the government's commitment to clean energy, modern infrastructure and sustainable growth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would flag off the train on July 17 and launch other development projects in Haryana to improve healthcare, infrastructure and traffic. The hydrogen-powered train would usher in a new era of environment-friendly transportation and strengthen Haryana's position in the field of green technology, Gupta said in a statement. Hydrogen helps reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, she said. The train will have hydrogen fuel cells to generate traction power instead of diesel. In line with the occasion, the flagging-off ceremony on July 17 in Jind will be "an eco-friendly event". As per the directions of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, people attenting the event will arrive at the venue in electric vehicles, CNG vehicles or e-rickshaws instead of petrol and diesel vehicles, she said. Gupta said the two new medical colleges which will be inaugurated in Bhiwani and Narnaul the same day would improve access to healthcare and medical education in southern Haryana. She said the elevated railway track at Kurukshetra would help ease traffic congestion, while road infrastructure projects, including the Delhi-Katra Expressway, Ambala-Kala Amb Greenfield Corridor, Jind-Gohana National Highway (NH-352A), Hansi-Barwala four-lane highway and the Bikaner-Siwani-Sonipat road project, would improve connectivity and boost economic activity. The state BJP chief claimed that better road infrastructure would reduce transportation costs, benefit farmers, traders and industries, attract investments and create employment opportunities. She also said a proposed Sikh Museum at Kurukshetra would promote religious and cultural tourism. Gupta said the BJP was committed to achieving the vision of a developed Haryana as part of the broader goal of building a developed India. PTI VSD SKY SKY
