Haryana launches registration portal to extend benefits of welfare schemes to former CAPF personnel

Chandigarh, Jul 10 (PTI) The Haryana government on Friday launched an online registration facility for former personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to enable them and their families to avail benefits under various state welfare schemes. Haryana Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the state is the first in the country to extend welfare benefits to former CAPF personnel on par with ex-servicemen from the armed forces. The online registration facility has been launched by the Department of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare on its official website. Former personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Rifles and other CAPFs, along with their family members, are eligible to register online. The minister said families of CAPF personnel who died in line of duty would also be able to directly avail benefits under various welfare schemes of the Haryana government. He said registered former CAPF personnel and eligible family members would be issued CAPF Personnel Identity Cards by the department. The registration process would also help address discrepancies in service records and long-pending service-related issues of former CAPF personnel. Singh said the initiative aims to ensure that those who contributed to the country's border and internal security receive due recognition and government support. He urged all eligible former CAPF personnel and their families to complete their registration at the earliest and directed officials to conduct awareness campaigns across the state so that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
