Hamirpur MP Thakur attends centenary celebrations of DAV College

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), June 14 (PTI) Former Union minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur said on Sunday that the DAV educational system integrates Vedic values and modern education, aligning with the core spirit of the National Education Policy-2020 implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the objective of DAV and NEP-2020 is to build an education system that fosters patriotism, personality development and a sense of pride in Indian culture among students. While attending the DAV College centenary celebration in Hoshiarpur, Thakur said DAV, which started as a small hostel, has today carved out a distinct place among the country's leading higher education institutions. Since 1926, five generations of students have received education from the institution and made significant contributions to society and nation-building, he said. Sharing a post on social media, Thakur wrote, "The educational philosophy of DAV, based on the integration of Vedic values and modern education, and the core spirit of the National Education Policy-2020 implemented by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji are aligned." "Today, at the centenary celebration of DAV College in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, I had the opportunity to share my thoughts as a former student about the institution's glorious journey of a hundred years," he said. Addressing the gathering, college management committee president Dr Anoop Kumar said the centenary celebration is not merely an event but a celebration of a remarkable journey. He said the seed planted in 1926 had now grown into a huge tree, adding that the institution was not only a centre of education but also an important platform for social and intellectual development.
