Ahmedabad, Jul 6 (PTI) Three alleged operatives of the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) last week, were on taken to their village in Banaskantha district on Monday for a formal reconstruction of the case, officials said. The accused — brothers Ahmed Abdullah (19) and Mudassir Abdullah Ghaziwala (22), along with their maternal uncle Ibrahim Mohammad Husain Ghagha (30) — were brought to Bhagal village in Palanpur taluka under tight security while they remained in ATS custody. Officials said the ATS team first visited the brothers' residence and later took them to Ghagha's house as part of the reconstruction of events. The trio are among the eight alleged JeM operatives arrested by the ATS on July 3 from different parts of Gujarat and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. According to the ATS, the accused were working to establish an active terror network in Gujarat by spreading extremist ideology, recruiting members, translating JeM propaganda into Gujarati and maintaining contact with Pakistan-based handlers. Of the eight arrested, seven were apprehended from Gujarat and one from Madhya Pradesh. The other accused have been identified as Zakariya Durani Mohammad Ammar Ghagha (21), Mufti Faujan Ismail Dauwa (40) and Mohammad Amin Shera (21), all residents of Patan district; Mohammad Abdul Rahman Savdi (22) of Navsari district; and Bilal Durani Mohammad Ammar Ghagha (18), a resident of Madhya Pradesh. A case has been registered against the accused under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, including sections relating to unlawful activities, raising funds for terrorist acts, conspiracy, membership of a terrorist organisation and support to a terrorist organisation. They have also been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to conspiracy and offences concerning waging war against the Government of India, ATS officials had said.
