Govt employee arrested for killing mother with kitchen knife in Rajasthan's Nawalgarh

Jaipur, Jul 9 (PTI) A man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his elderly mother to death following an argument at their home in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, police said on Thursday. Rajveer, 25, allegedly attacked his mother, Prabhati Devi, 60, with a kitchen knife after the two got into a quarrel on Tuesday night in Nawalgarh town, SHO Ajay Singh said. After the incident, Rajveer called his sister and told her that he had killed their mother. They rushed to the house and took the injured woman to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead, police said. Police registered a case of murder and arrested the accused on Wednesday night, who is an upper division clerk (UDC) in the Public Works Department posted in Nawalgarh. Police said that Rajveer was living with his mother, while his wife had been staying at her parental home following a marital dispute.
