Chandigarh, Jul 7 (PTI) Former Sri Hargobindpur MLA Balwinder Singh Laddi and his supporters joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab on Tuesday.
Laddi, who switched over from the BJP, was inducted into AAP in the presence of senior party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia, AAP Punjab president Aman Arora, Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and other leaders.
Welcoming Laddi, Sisodia said, "The AAP family is expanding continuously as people across Punjab are placing their faith in the honest politics and people-centric governance of the Bhagwant Mann-led government." Minister Aman Arora said AAP's growing support reflects people's confidence in the government's transparent administration, development-oriented policies and commitment to the welfare of every section of society.
"Balwinder Singh Laddi's experience and public connect would further strengthen the party organisation in Punjab," Arora said.
Laddi served as the Congress MLA from Sri Hargobindpur from 2017 to 2022. He later joined the BJP and served as the chairman of its Panchayati Cell and as the general secretary of its SC Morcha, before joining AAP.
"I am impressed by the Mann government's transparent governance and development-oriented policies. Punjab needs clean and honest politics. Under Mann's supervision and the guidance of the party leadership, AAP is working sincerely for the welfare and prosperity of the state," Laddi said after joining AAP.
He promised the party leadership to work with complete dedication to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and take the government's pro-people policies to every household in the state.
