Environment ministry removes Bhupendra Yadav's private secretary, three others

New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) In an unprecedented move, the Ministry of Environment has simultaneously removed Union Minister Bhupender Yadav's private secretary, assistant private secretary, and two additional private secretaries. Yadav's private secretary was removed on "administrative grounds", while the appointments of an assistant private secretary and an additional private secretary were terminated. The other additional private secretary was "prematurely repatriated" to his parent cadre. The decision was announced through four different orders issued on July 3, which did not mention the reasons for the officials' removal. Yadav's private secretary Amar Singh, who has been relieved, is a 2010 batch Indian Revenue Service officer. He was appointed to the post in June 2024, for a period up to September 7, 2026, according to a Department of Personnel and Training memorandum. "Amar Singh IRS, private secretary to the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, is repatriated to his parent cadre, that is the Department of Revenue, on administrative grounds and relieved of his duties with immediate effect," the environment ministry's order read. Siddharth Yadav is the assistant private secretary whose appointment has been terminated with immediate effect. The additional private secretary whose appointment has been terminated is Ayush Saran. "In pursuance of the Department of Personnel and Training's OM (official memorandum), and with the approval of the competent authority, the appointment of Ayush Saran as additional private secretary to the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change is terminated with immediate effect. Ayush Saran is relieved of his duties immediately," said the order. Additional Private Secretary Shailesh Kumar Singh has been repatriated to his parent cadre. "Shailesh Kumar Singh, Central Secretariat Service, additional private secretary to the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, is prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre, that is the Department of Personnel and Training, with the provision of 'extended cooling off' and relieved of his duties with immediate effect," read the order.
