Elderly couple on way to celebrate son's birthday killed in Kota road accident

Kota (Raj), Jul 9 (PTI) What was meant to be a day of celebration turned into tragedy when an elderly couple was killed in a road accident in Rajasthan's Bundi district on Thursday while on their way to celebrate their son's birthday. Kaidar Lal Sharma (70) and wife Geeta Devi (65), residents of Kapren town in Bundi district, were on their way to Kota when their motorcycle was hit from behind by a speedy truck on the Kota-Lalsot mega highway near Gudla toll plaza, police said. They died on the spot and their bodies were handed over to family members after postmortem, police added. A case has been lodged against the truck driver, who is yet to be traced. The truck was, however, seized. Sharma was a retired teacher while his two sons lived in Kota, one of them employed in Kota's government hospital. PTI COR ZMN
