New Delhi, Jul 9 (PTI) The University of Delhi will conduct physical trials for admissions under the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quota from around July 15, while candidates seeking admission under the Sports Supernumerary Quota will also undergo discipline-specific trials.
University officials said that allocations and admissions in both categories are going to be done after the third round of the undergraduate seat allocation process.
University officials on Thursday said admissions under the ECA and sports supernumerary categories would be conducted separately from the regular Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) process, as those are dependent on trials as well.
The first and second phases of the undergraduate admission process are currently running simultaneously. Candidates have until 11.59 pm on July 11 to complete subject mapping and fill their programme and college preferences, after which the preferences will be automatically locked.
A correction window will remain open from 10 am on Friday, July 10, to 11.59 pm on Saturday, July 11, allowing candidates to edit their application details. The first allocation list under the regular admission process is scheduled to be announced on July 16.
Officials said allocations under the ECA and sports quotas will take place after or with the third round of regular admissions.
Under the ECA quota, candidates can apply in up to three ECA categories, including sub-categories, and must upload five of their best certificates related to the chosen activity while submitting their applications.
The university offers admissions under 14 ECA categories, including dance, music, theatre, debate, creative writing, fine arts, digital media, quiz and yoga.
The schedule and venue for physical trials will be prepared after the completion of phase II of the admission process, based on the number of applications received, and uploaded on the university's admission portal. No separate communication will be sent to candidates.
Officials said certificates uploaded by candidates must correspond to the specific ECA sub-category for which they are seeking admission.
Admissions under the ECA quota will be based on a weightage of 25 per cent of the candidate's CUET (UG) score and 75 per cent of the highest score obtained in the ECA trial.
Candidates who receive admission under the ECA category will have their regular seat allocation adjusted accordingly, officials said.
They added that when a candidate accepts the seat allocated following the ECA trials, the regular seat allocation will be removed.
Admissions under the Sports Supernumerary Quota will be conducted across 28 disciplines, with candidates permitted to apply in a maximum of three sports.
The university has classified sports into three categories, team games, dual and combat sports, and individual sports, with separate evaluation criteria for each.
For team sports, the total evaluation carries 400 marks, of which 200 marks are allotted for assessment of fundamental skills and 200 marks for performance during the trial.
For dual and combat sports, as well as individual sports such as archery, athletics, gymnastics and swimming, candidates will be evaluated solely on trial performance carrying 400 marks.
Sports certificates earned during the preceding three years, from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2026, will be considered for admission.
The final merit under the Sports Supernumerary Quota will be prepared by assigning 25 per cent weightage to the CUET (UG) score, 25 per cent to the highest marks obtained by a candidate in the evaluation of uploaded sports merit or participation certificates and 50 per cent to the highest score obtained in the sports trial.
The university had earlier released the sports-wise seat matrix for the 2026-27 academic session, offering 2,153 seats across 28 disciplines under the Sports Supernumerary Quota. PTI AHD AHD SKY SKY
