Delhi govt to open 45 more Ayushman Arogya Mandirs under seventh phase

New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) Delhi government will dedicate 45 more Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the national capital to people under the seventh phase of the initiative, taking forward its drive to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure, officials said on Thursday. With the addition of the new centres, the government is expanding access to comprehensive primary healthcare services across Delhi, an official statement said. The latest phase follows the operationalisation of 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the city, including 244 urban sub-health centres and 126 urban primary health centres, it said. The new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will provide services such as maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, screening and management of non-communicable diseases, treatment of common illnesses, essential medicines, diagnostic services, and health promotion and wellness programmes, the statement said. Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh said the new centres would bring essential healthcare services closer to people with a focus on preventive, promotive and comprehensive primary healthcare. “The planned dedication of 45 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs marks another important milestone in our efforts to make quality healthcare accessible, affordable and equitable for every resident of Delhi,” Singh said. The centres would serve as the first point of contact for comprehensive primary healthcare, with emphasis on preventive care, early diagnosis and timely treatment, he added. The government said it will continue to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, modernise public health facilities and expand access to quality healthcare across the city, according to the statement.
