Boy drowns in lake in Mumbai's Andheri West

Mumbai, Jul 13 (PTI) A 10-year-old boy drowned in a lake in Andheri West area of Mumbai on Monday, a civic official said. He said the incident occurred at Wireless Compound in Juhu Gully, DN Nagar, at around 2.25 pm. "As per information received from police, two to three children from a nearby slum had gone swimming in the lake, which is located on private property. One of them, identified as Dinesh Basawraj Harijan (10), drowned and a search operation has been launched," the official informed. Further details about the incident are awaited, he added. This is the second drowning incident in Mumbai in less than a week. Last week, two 19-year-old youths drowned in a quarry in Dahisar in the northern part of the metropolis. PTI KK BNM
