Araria, Jul 7 (PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday asserted that the state government is committed to maintaining law and order, and its “zero tolerance” policy towards crime and infiltration will be strictly enforced across the state.
Choudhary was speaking here at a ‘Sahyog’ camp recently launched by the government to ensure prompt resolution of people's grievances concerning different departments.
“The state government is committed to maintaining law and order. Our policy of zero tolerance towards crime and infiltration will be strictly enforced. I have maintained from the very beginning that criminals and infiltrators will have to leave Bihar at any cost,” the chief minister said.
In order to strengthen security in border areas, 194 Border Outposts (BOPs) have been established along the 735-km international boundary, he said.
The ‘Sahyog’ camps are organised at the panchayat level on the first and third Tuesday of every month.
The CM also said that a medical college and hospital would soon be established in Araria district and an airport will come up in the Forbesganj block.
Clarifying the government's toll tax policy, Choudhary said private vehicles will not be required to pay any toll on state highways.
The government had recently notified the Bihar Road User Fee Rules, 2026, introducing a new framework for toll collection on select state highways, major bridges, bypasses and tunnels.
Choudhary added that work is progressing rapidly on several major infrastructure projects – the Siliguri-Gorakhpur Expressway, the Kosi-Mechi Link Project, the Bairgachhi-Sikti Road, the Teksganj-Sukela Bypass, and the Subhash Chowk ROB. PTI CORR PKD RBT
