Amaravati, Jul 14 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Governor S Abdul Nazeer, opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and others condoled the death of former minister Mudragada Padmanabham on Tuesday.
As a Kapu community leader, Padmanabham campaigned for his community's inclusion in the Backward Communities list.
He passed away in a Hyderabad hospital on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
The governor expressed profound grief and sadness on the death of Padmanabham, who had served as an MLA for four terms and one term as an MP. He offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
Chief Minister Naidu, in a post on X, said, "The news of the passing of former minister Mudragada Padmanabham has caused profound sorrow. I extend my deepest condolences to his family members. I pray to the Almighty that his soul attains eternal peace".
Similarly, former CM and YSRCP supremo Jagan said that he was deeply saddened and shaken by the passing of his party's senior leader and a fatherly figure, Padmanabham.
"The recent news that he was recovering steadily after his illness had given all of us hope that he would soon regain full health and return to public life. At a time when we were looking forward to seeing him back among us, his untimely demise has come as a profound shock and an irreparable loss," Jagan said in a post on X.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conveyed his sadness over the death of Padmanabham.
Wishing for the peace of the departed leader's soul, Kalyan reminded that Padmanbham was first elected as an MLA in 1978 and went on to represent the Kakinada constituency in the Lok Sabha. PTI STH ADB
