4 of family killed, four injured as car crashes into stationary truck in Gujarat

Junagadh, Jul 11 (PTI) Four members of a family were killed and four others sustained injuries after their car crashed into a stationary truck in Gujarat's Junagadh district in the early hours of Saturday, police said. The accident occurred near Majevadi village when the family from Banaskantha district was on its way to Somnath to immerse the ashes of a relative, an official from the Junagadh taluka police said. He said that the car rammed into a truck parked on the roadside, killing four occupants on the spot. Four others sustained injuries, of whom two are in critical condition. They were shifted to Junagadh civil hospital for treatment, the official said. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem, and a probe has been initiated into the crash, he added.
