3 children killed, 2 injured as truck runs over roadside drain cover in Jaipur

Jaipur, Jul 7 (PTI) Three children were killed and two others injured after a truck ran over them while they were standing on a roadside drain cover, which collapsed under the impact, throwing all five into the drain here on Tuesday morning, police said. The truck broke through an iron railing before running over the drain cover on which the five children were standing. Three children died on the spot while the two injured have been hospitalised. Police personnel, assisted by local residents, retrieved the bodies and rescued the injured. The damaged truck was later removed with the help of a crane. PTI SDA RHL
